+ YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCE

I have always been inspired by my maternal grandfather. He travelled from Lithuania to the United States by himself as a 13 year-old boy. He loved America so much that he never returned. He lied about his age to enlist in WWI and was shot in a major battle. On his return, he started a business and when WWII came, he was the one who got his family out of Lithuania. Whenever things are tough, I think of his accomplishments, his will and his compassion.

+ YOUR FAVORITE BOOK

I like to read a wide variety of books, from business-related books to fiction. I recently read The Power of Habit, which offered an interesting look at the intersection between psychology and commerce and its impact on our daily lives. I am in the midst of reading Setting the Table by Danny Meyer. His story about how he built a restaurant empire from scratch is a compelling story and he offers some valuable advice for anyone in the hospitality industry (or any service industry for that matter). I really enjoyed reading The Big Short, particularly given our proximity to Wall Street and our familiarity with some of the players involved in the book. When I am travelling or relaxing, I tend to gravitate towards novels that have a spy or legal thriller component.

+ YOUR PROFESSION AND WHY YOU CHOSE IT

I'm not sure anyone chooses recruiting as a profession, I just happen to have a lot of attributes that make me a good recruiter. I am an excellent communicator and I try to be as insightful as I can about what motivates people. I really do believe in doing right by people and I hold myself to the highest possible standards.

+ YOUR VIEW OF LAW AND COMPLIANCE OPPORTUNITIES

I've never seen such a high demand for people with compliance experience. The enactment of Dodd/Frank, the increased demand for attorneys with white collar crime expertise, and the fact that all private funds have to register with makes this a dynamic time for compliance professionals.

+ YOUR ADVICE FOR CHOOSING A CAREER

Don't be afraid to try something different and new. As Michael Scott said when quoting Wayne Gretzky "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take".

+ YOUR CREDS

Temple University Law School and Ithaca College .

I am a native Philadelphian who moved to New York but I am still an avid Philadelphia sports fan.
