+ YOUR MOST INFLUENTIAL MENTOR

My mother is probably my most influential mentor. She has worn many hats: she earned a Master's degree in Middle Eastern Policy and worked in radio broadcasting before matriculating at Fordham Law at age 29. She gave birth to both my brother and me while in law school and still graduated on time and passed the bar exam on the first try. Though she didn't practice law, she has had a fulfilling career as a real estate manager/freelance journalist/mother/home cook extraordinaire, is an active Hadassah volunteer, and is currently taking creative writing classes. She has taught me that life may not turn out the way you anticipate, but there are always new things to try and love.

+ YOUR FAVORITE BOOK

It's a tie between The Catcher in the Rye and Pride and Prejudice.

+ YOUR PROFESSION AND WHY YOU CHOSE IT

I practiced law at a firm for about a year and a half. Since college, I always kept recruiting or human resources as career options in the back of my mind. Legal recruiting is a great fit because it allows me to stay up to date on what's happening in the legal world while also allowing me to exercise my business savvy and have the interaction with people that I crave.

+ YOUR ADVICE FOR CHOOSING A CAREER

Speak to as many people as possible when looking for jobs, but know that your path is uncertain and you may end up doing something totally different – and totally better – than you expected.
